An area of outstanding natural beauty, Snowdonia has diverse landscapes with mountain ranges and tranquil lakes, sweeping rivers and a wealth of forest trails to explore. Visit places like Beddgelert, Llanberis or Betws-y-Coed and historic Caernarfon and its castle. There are more lively North Wales seaside resorts too. Wales’ most popular resort is Llandudno with its tranquil atmosphere and superb setting. The town has retained a Victorian charm all of its own and an extensive range of entertainment and shopping facilities. Colwyn Bay too has a hint of a Victorian past with its pier, alongside more up to date attractions and is conveniently situated for touring North Wales. Rhos on Sea is ideal for watersports and fishing enthusiasts as it is in a harbour, with plenty of quality gift shops and a promenade to stroll along. For fun filled, action packed, family holidays, there are the two resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn. A must is a visit to the Snowdonia National Park - a magnet for climbers and walkers - for some of the best sailing and surfing in Wales, the coastlines of the Llyn Peninsula and Cambrian Coast and their superb beaches are just a few miles away.
