Location
The Sands Holiday Centre is situated 4 miles (6km) from the village of Strath on Gairloch Bay. The site is situated on the road from Gairloch to the village of Melvaig, a quiet single track road ideal for cycling.
Accommodation & Facilities Touring
The Sands Holiday Centre is a Camping and Caravanning Site with unrivalled facilities situated beside its own South West facing beach. Facilities include toilets and showers, washing-up sinks, a laundry, telephones and a shop. Electric hook-ups are available.
Family
Children will love the park's own beach, the golden sand is unspoiled and it is a safe, gently sloping beach running into the sparkling clear water.
Entertainment
The site has its own slipway with free use by campers for those who wish to bring their own watersports equipment. The stretch of water in front of the beach is protected by Longa Island making it ideal for windsurfing, canoeing and sailing. The clear water is ideal for snorkelling or diving and Longa Island has a rocky coastline as does other parts of Gairloch Bay.
Food & Drink
Both Garloch and Strath have a Post Office and a number of shops and restuarants.
Local Activities
Gairloch Harbour to the south of Strath village has a working harbour serving the fishing fleet. It has fishing trips and is also a stopping point for cruise liners. Golf courses can also be found nearby.
